The Challenge
Like most people, I’ve spent far too much time scrolling through streaming platforms trying to decide what to watch. After a particularly long debate with my girlfriend over movie night, I realised the real problem wasn’t a lack of options - it was having too many.
The Solution
I built PickFlix, a simple web app that removes decision fatigue from movie selection. Users choose their country, preferred streaming platforms, and favourite genre, and the app recommends a highly-rated film available to watch immediately. Built as a rapid experiment using AI-assisted development tools, the project was an opportunity to explore how quickly an idea could be turned into a working product.
The Result
PickFlix transformed a small everyday frustration into a functioning application within a day. While simple, the project reinforced a mindset I bring to marketing too: identify a problem, build a solution quickly, test it in the real world, and iterate based on feedback. It was a practical reminder that modern AI tools have dramatically reduced the gap between having an idea and shipping something (sort of) useful.
